Today, after having hair past my waist nearly since the age of three, I cut it all off… well almost. My look was inspired by Edie Sedgwick’s crop and Carey Mulligan’s long pixie. It feels amazing and it fits me better than any haircut ever has. It is what some would consider a bold move, but it made complete sense to me. My mid-length hair did not fit my style or personality… I wish I had done this a few months ago, maybe years.

I live in Chicago and was looking for a great place for this haircut. I found Maxine Salon in the most recent issue of Elle magazine and figured it was some sort of sign. It is listed as one of the top 100 salons in the country. My stylist, Amy (also the Creative Director of Maxine), did a fantastic job! She understood exactly what I wanted, helped me with my concerns and taught me different ways of styling. I highly recommend her for any cuts and she is a genius with short hair styles! This is one of the most liberating things I’ve ever done.
